Overview of the role:

Come and be a part of our team at DiversITy-talent as a Volunteer Fundraising Senior Support Specialist. Your role will be vital in supporting our mission to promote diversity and inclusion in the business and tech industry. As a volunteer, you will have the chance to apply your fundraising and grant writing skills to assist DiversITy-talent in securing the necessary resources to drive our initiatives forward. Role Responsibilities:

• Working directly for the founders you will collaborate to develop and implement fundraising strategies tailored to DiversITy-talent’s mission and goals.
• Utilise your experience in grant writing and funding applications to research and identify potential funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, family offices and government agencies.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and fundraising appeals, ensuring alignment with DiversITy-talent’s objectives and priorities.
• Cultivate relationships with potential business sponsors, identifying opportunities for corporate sponsorship and partnership.
• Manage donor relationships, including stewardship activities, acknowledgement letters, and donor communications.
• Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and contributions in our donor database, ensuring data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns, including outreach, logistics, and post-event evaluation.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising materials and messaging that highlight DiversITy-talent’s impact and achievements.
• Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating the effectiveness of DiversITy-talent’s fundraising efforts and the utilisation of funds.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience (minimum 2 years) in fundraising, development, or grant writing within the nonprofit sector or similar organisations.
• Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive grant proposals, fundraising appeals, and donor communications.
• Understanding of nonprofit management principles and familiarity with fundraising best practises, including donor cultivation, stewardship, and relationship management.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a volunteer capacity, with a commitment to contributing your time and expertise to support DiversITy-talent’s mission.
  Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, coupled with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the tech industry.
• Knowledge of Community Interest Companies (CICs) and their unique operating models is a plus.
• Proficiency in using fundraising software and donor databases is desirable but not required.
• Flexibility to adapt to the needs of a growing organisation and willingness to take on new challenges as they arise.
